University of Gloucestershire is a public university in Gloucestershire, England. Its history spans nearly two centuries.
The University can trace its history to the Cheltenham Mechanics’ Institute established in 1834, and to the Cheltenham Training College established in 1847. Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education was created in 1990 and in October 2001, the college was awarded university status.
Today, University of Gloucestershire provides 120 undergraduate courses and more than 60 postgraduate courses within eight Academic Schools.
